Some 530 warm coats and blankets were collected by World Missions Possible in 2008. The December mission, organized by Dr. Tom Flowers, and Roxane and Rainier Richter, distributed free OTC medication and donated blankets and coats in New Orleans' 9th ward in Louisianna (Hurricane Katrina), and in Galveston Island, Texas (Hurricane Ike).
At the New Orleans mission, WMP worked in cooperation with Bethany United Methodist Church, who organized a free pajama and underwear giveaway for the kids and a delicious hot lunch. During the free medical clinics, some 50 patients were given a free wellness check-up, including blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation (spO2), temperature, and blood sugar levels.
