

Health and Vision Clinic for Homeless and Indigent
We had 5 licensed optometrists, 3 licensed opticians, 2 MDs, 4 RNs, 1 EMT, 5 UTMB medical students, 15 University of Houston VOSH volunteers and many, many more wonderful volunteers! Many thanks to you all for a successful "I CARE" Vision & Wellness Clinic. We allotted scheduled optometrist appointments to four area organizations, including: Bay Area Turning Point domestic violence shelter , Jess Tree of Galveston County, Crossroads shelter, and CLUMC Celebracion Hispanic Min


Superheroes in Scrubs Host Homeless/Indigent Vision & Medical Care Outreach
My "SUPERHEROES IN SCRUBS" from our August 28, 2012, Houston homeless/indigent vision and medical care outreach. All services for 91 patients from a local Houston-are shelter were provided free of charge, including: glaucoma testing, full eye exam by licensed optometrists, reading and prescription eyeglasses, some OTC medication, and wellness check-up with diabetes and hypertension testing!
