1100+ Patients in Ghana Provided FREE Medical Care

1,105 patients were offered and received free medical care, vision screening and eyeglasses. The areas served included N'gani (witches village), Ekotsi and Bogyano. Care included free diagnostics, eyeglasses and medications, the use of our brand-new mobile ultrasound, vascular doppler fetal tone readings, rehydration therapies, malaria and parasite (worm) treatments, vital signs, plus paid surgical intervention, hospital and national insurance coverage for long-term care patients, and more.

Medical personnel included: Dr. Didier Amehi, Dr. Salifu Bawa (Central Regional Hospital ER staff), Gifty Mante (RN), Roxane Richter (EMT), and Alidu Zakaris, plus physician assistants, nurses (Sophie, Sarah and Sophie) and numerous translators.

This year, WMP offered its first-ever vision clinic in the southern Ekotsi-Bogyano area. We are grateful to Dr. Charles Darko-Takyi of BAS Optical Centre in Cape Coast for his service to the people in the area. Dr. Charles and his two associates worked tirelessly for two entire days of clinic, seeing over 200 patients, offering free vision screening and eyeglasses donated by World Mission Possible.

World Missions Possible donated 450 pairs of prescription eye- and sunglasses to area residents. The long lines for vision screening was unending! WMP donated a manual focometer (used to test vision) and other vision aids ($800 value) to Nana Kwefi Arkoh, Chief of Bogyano, and Dr. Charles Darko-Taky to the people of Bogyano, to be used in future eye clinics in the area.

The team also donated life-saving medical supplies and equipment to: N'gani Clinic, Central Regional Hospital (Cape Coast), Yendi Hospital, Methodist Church Health Services (Northern Diocese), and others. Central Regional Hospital in Cape Coast received a brand-new, state-of-the-art Zoll PLUS automatic external defibrillator and pads ($2,000 value), numerous surgical instruments and supplies from WMP, medications from KINAPharma, and ambu-bags, ostomy supplies, bandages, and emergency room supplies and equipment from Clear Lake Regional Hospital in Webster, Texas.
